The trail head for Monroe’s trail is to the south of Waterbury, Vermont. This trail was not really exciting, but was long. Gradual ascent for the most part. The last couple of miles get exciting. The views from camel’s hump are really spectacular. One can see Lake Champlain, Mt. Mansfield, Waterbury valley and the rolling Green Mountains. The mountain top also supports some alpine vegetation.

Hunger Mountain’s trail head is at the end of Loomis Hill Rd. in Waterbury Ct., Vermont. Its an moderately difficult hike. More intense than long. It features some steep ascents and is lots of fun. The top is beautiful with views of both the White Mountains, The Green Mountains, The Adirondacks and the Stowe- Waterbury Valley.
